This trekking allows you to discover all Ayas Valley specificities: from the castles to the most important Aosta Valley’s "rus" (irrigation streams), from places of big environmental value to the gold mines, wonderful mule tracks and spectacular views over Monte Rosa. A path of about 98 km length with an altitude difference of 4.200 meters.
The path can be normally accomplished in six walking days. For time or training reasons it is even possibile to divide the route in two sections, travellable in 4 days. While the high section offers the best views over Matterhorn and Monterosa 4000 m, the lower one has the advantage of beeing walkable at every time of the year.

Daily stages with 300-900 m ascent and downhill altitude difference. Notice that some stages envisage more engaging paths with downhill altitude difference of even 1.200 metres. From 3.5 to 7 walking hours a day. Minimum altitude 380 m a.s.l.; maximum reached altitude: 2.330 m a.s.l.. If your feet are used to walk for a long time and on every type of ground, this trekking is going to satisfy your thirst for adventure. Basic ingredients for a successful holiday: technical equipment, a good amount of workout and endurance.

A5 Turin-Aosta motorway (from Turin) or A4 Turin-Milan and following connection with A5 (from Milan) – Verrès exit – regional road SR45 until Champoluc - directions for Frachey-impianti di risalita (ski lifts).
Reference railway station: Verrès. From Verrès, bus service to Champoluc (1 hour).
